National Council for Research, Technology

and Innovation – NCRTI

The National Council for Research, Technology and Innovation (NCRTI) is the supreme government advisory body responsible for shaping and implementing a national strategy for Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RTDI). The Council assists the competent Minister or Alternate Minister or Deputy Minister in charge of Research and Technology as well as the General Secretary for Research and Innovation (former General Secretariat for Research and Technology was renamed General Secretariat for Research and Technology by Presidential Decree (P.D.) 3/6.01.2021, article 3) in matters falling within their remit.

The mission of ESETEK

Role

The National Council for Research, Technology and Innovation (ESETEK) is the highest advisory body of the State regarding the formulation of a national strategy for Research, Technology and Innovation Development (RTID). NCRTI supports in its work the Minister or Deputy Minister for Research and Technology (hereinafter “Minister”) and the Secretary General for Research and Innovation (GSRI) in all relative matters.

Monitoring of National, European and International developments in RTID and submission of relevant proposals.

Contribution

Contribution in the formation and updating of RTID and monitoring of the progress of its implementation.

Preparation

Preparation and publication of an annual Strategy Report for Research, Technology and Innovation

Submission

Submission of proposals for the utilisation, the strategic formulation and the distribution of public financing for RTID.
